Incredibles 2 Teaser

Incredible News!

I was happy with how The Incredibles balanced family friendly programming with a slight edge, where in one scene Elastigril (Holly Hunter) tells her kids something like, “This isn’t a movie, if the bad guys have a chance, they will kill you.” With a commanding cast led by Craig T. Nelson as the hunk with a heart, Mr. Incredible who tried to keep his powers under control as he dealt with the overpowering pangs of nostalgia – while convincing his family that they had to keep stifling their greatness.

And when The Incredibles ended, we learned the big reveal that the Parr’s newborn also possessed some unique gifts. I never thought they would actually make a sequel, but now I am really excited to see where it goes from here.

Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.

Preview: Winchester: The House That Ghosts Built

This film looks to be billed as a horror film, where I am assuming the presence of ghosts will be very real. I am thrilled to see that and am praying it won’t be one of those films that focuses more on the struggle of proving her sanity. I am reminded of The Exorcism of Emily Rose, which was a decent courtroom drama, but they sold it as a horror flick . . . which it wasn’t. If CBS Films decides to turn this film into a preachy mess and skimps on the spirits, it will irk me to no end. If they manage to balance all the different elements, it could be a real winner with cinephiles like me.

Star Wars The Last Jedi

Trailer: The Last Jedi

People keep asking me what movie I am most looking forward to seeing this year, and all year I have been replying with, “You mean besides The Last Jedi?” I know a lot of people were underwhelmed with The Force Awakens and were fairly harsh on how it was essentially just a rehashing of A New Hope, which is true to some extent, but I have always contended that we are only seeing one chapter in a three-part series. What has always enticed me about Star Wars is how they understand the concept of not giving away all the goods at once. It’s like a horror novel or film that saturates the reader with the monster too soon and too often. Star Wars doesn’t make that mistake, well, the classic trilogies didn’t anyway.
